What's on your... Nightstand

Last week I did a post about my room. Today I decided to feature my nightstand!

I have my Nico and Lala catch-all which holds vasaline, softlips and my stereo remote. I then have my current reads-Twenties Girl by Sophie Kindella and the Bible! On top of those I have a plaque with one of my favorite verses that my sweet BF gave me!

Thankful Thursday

This week I am grateful for electronics! I never prided myself in being a techie, but as of late I have started to love my little gadgets!

For Christmas I got a Droid and I really like it! It is easy to use and I the service is fantastic!!

I do all my blogging on my Toshiba laptop! It organizes everything well and is light-weight to carry around!

The Ipad is wonderful! I use it mainly for Pandora which I have playing in the background 24/7!

Book Review

After reading The Hours fo school I decided to pick up something a little lighter! I read Commencement by J. Courtney Sullivan.

It wasn't the light-hearted book I hoped for but I thought it was great none the less! Each character had a wonderful story to tell. My favorite character was Sally, a preppy girl from the south (I wonder why I liked her so much!) There was even a Lilly reference! But all four charcters was unique and I really enjoyed it! I would recommend it to any of y'all! The Hours on the other hand, not so much.

I got a new Lilly Dress!! My mom and dad suprised me with it and i was thrilled!! I know it's a lttle summery, but it looks very cute paired with a cardigan! Thank you Mom and Dad!!!

Ouchhhhhh

Sorry for my absense the last few days! I broke my toe. I know it doesn't sound like much but to me its a big deal! It is my first broken bone! We spent four hours at the doctor-NIGHTMARE! But to cheer me up my mom brought me some of this...

Thankful Thursday

This week (and every other week of my life for that matter!) I am grateful for sticky notes!! I really do LOVE these! I am constantly going through pads of them!! I even have a sticky note app on my phone, it was the first app I downloaded! Some of my favorites are...

These Lilly ones are great because they have several sizes and are super sticky!!!

I have Vista Print ones with my monogram on it, but I have nearly used them all up!

 Of course good old fashioned Post Its work too!

Charmed

Awhile back Royar at My Life as a Young Southern Prep did a post on her charm bracelet! I thought it was such a cute idea so I decided to do one of my own! Living in Texas every girl gets a James Avery charm bracelet. You begin to collect charms in elementary school and for most special occasions recieve one!

Each one has a special meaning to me!

•  The heart that says love came off of my mom's bracelet! (She got hers in the 70's!)
•  The toothfairy brought me the tooth after I lost my first one!
• The easter bunny brought me the rabbit!
• cCl gave me the car key when I turned 16!
• I got the crown from my parents when I won Sophomore homecomming queen!

I love my bedroom! One week I went to church camp and came back to find my parents had totally redone it!  It is very Shabby Chic and I love it!!

New Pet Peve?

So some of my friends have gone a little abreviation crazy. This is how a recent conversation with one of my friends and my mother went.

Friend: OMG that it totes redic!
My mom: Ummm could you please translate?
Friend: Oh my gosh that is totally rediculous-it's pretty obvi (obvious)!
Mom: Right...
Friend: Abrevi's are so in right now! Didn't yall know?

Does anyone else agree with me that this new "in" phase is a little obnoxious?

Thankful Thursday

This week I am so grateful for fleece and flannel!!! Even in South Texas it is freezing and I have worn a pullover every day! I love fleece! If you are on a tight budget Old Navy and Norstrom's Rack have a great selection!


I get my fleece in the little boys department!

Now onto flannel. Not shirts but sheets! I am always freezing so flannel sheets are, in my opinion, the greatest invention ever! If you dont have any you should definitely invest in some! I got mine at Target for $20 and LOVE them!

Stressed much?

So finals are just about putting me over the edge! I have been studying like crazy. This is how I looked leaving my house this morning!

Finals

I stated earlier that my school's semester ends in mid January soooooo finals start on Tuesday. 
This is what my week will look like:
Monday: Review day
Tues: English
Wed: History, Pre-Cal
Thurs: Physics
Fri: Tech Theatre

No finals in volleyball or yearbook!! The only good thing about finals week is getting out by noon each day. I get to go spend some time with my mom's first grade class!!

Gig 'Em Aggies!

Tonight is the Cotton Bowl and if you are an Aggie you are very excited!! We are playing LSU at Cowboy Stadium. I would love to be there but tickets went so FAST!!  Instead my family is having a party tonight to watch the game and cheer them on!!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I am very blessed and thank God everyday for what he has and is doing in my life. Today I am especially thankful for my teachers. Most teenagers complain about how awful teachers are but i think I have been blessed to have some amazing teachers the past 11 years.  I have had teachers who have encouraged me, pushed me to be better, had confidence in me. I am also grateful for my Sunday school teachers! They are wonderful and always encourage me to live my life for Christ! When I was born my parents started praying everyday for the Lord to send me good teachers, strong friends, and kind boyfriends. I believe in the power of prayer and know that God has blessed me with a great education and wonderful teachers!

Lilly finds!

The other day my mom and I went to a few local resale and consignment shops! I took some clothes that i don't wear to often and looked around while I was there! I came home with two Lilly pieces! One dress and one skirt all for a grand total of...$45!!! The skirt is a pink and white seer sucker! Here is the dress.

Back To School: OOTD

First day back to school. I am feeling a little sad but I love school and am always happy once I'm there. Going back after Christmas is always fun... I love to hear what everyone got and of course everyone wears their new outfits!!
